9.2.   Case Study - Moveon.org                                     (Top)

Work on the public interest democracy project has been unofficially underway for several months, including Internet discussion and the collection of materials and baseline data.  The first official project is a case study of the advocacy network called Moveon.org, Berkeley, California.  Moveon is a highly successful founded by Wes Boyd and Joan Blades.  In addition to increasing our understanding of the bubbling-up public interest advocacy process, this case study serves as a pilot study for learning what to look for and to ask in the full study of advocacy nets.  To the extent that this study is exploratory, the following research outline is only tentative - as are the outlines for the full research.
